Tuned, tested, and calibrated to original Technics factory specifications.

Are your Technics suffering from pitch drift, stiff tonearm height adjustment, dead target lamps, or intermittent audio hum?

Our Full Technics Service strips your SL-1200/1210 down to the bare bones, decontaminating decades of dirt, dust, dried factory grease, and oxidised fluid. We rebuild the turntable from the ground up, install upgraded RCA cabling, and calibrate the quartz direct-drive system back to factory tolerances.

What’s Included in the Service:

• Complete Turntable Teardown & Decontamination Full separation of the aluminium die-cast body, rubber base, mainboard, tonearm, target light, pitch control and operation base. Mechanical components ultrasonically cleaned and degreased to eliminate internal grime, spilled liquids, and oxidised residue.
• Center Spindle & Bearing Overhaul Disassembly of the spindle bearing and cleaning of the direct-drive motor stator . Inspection of the bronze thrust plate, ultrasonic cleaning of the sleeve, and replenishment using genuine factory-spec synthetic spindle lubricant.
• RCA and Ground Cabling Upgrade Replacement of aging, brittle cables with premium ultra-low capacitance, double-shielded OFC phono interconnects and heavy-duty gold-plated RCAs. Fitted with a new flexible external ground wire.
• Pitch Fader Rebuild & Calibration Full desolder and deep cleaning of the pitch potentiometer carbon tracks and contact wipers and re-greased. Installation of fresh dust felts to protect against future ingress. Frequency lock verified across all quartz pitch points.
• Long-Life Pop-Up Target LED Conversion Removal of the failure-prone factory incandescent filament bulb. Upgraded with an integrated, regulated LED for durability. The hydraulic lift cylinder is stripped and repacked with high-viscosity damping fluid for a smooth, slow ascent.
• Tonearm & Gimbal Precision Calibration Inspection of all four micro-pivot bearings for lateral and vertical play. Re-lubrication of the VTA (helicoid height ring) mechanism with damping grease, free-float balance testing, and anti-skate spring calibration.
• Motor Electronics & Brake Adjustment Start torque, electronic braking resistance (VR201), and 33⅓ / 45 RPM speeds electronically dialed in using precision test points.

How It Works

1. Book Your Service: Use our booking form to reserve your slot. One deck per slot, please choose a day with 2 free slots for a pair. One day turnaround for a pair.

3. Bench Inspection & Work: Once your deck arrives, we conduct a full inspection / load test and will report back with any issues outside the service scope. In most cases, the full service covers everything. Tonearm damage or mainboard failures may require additional parts.
4. Insured Return Delivery: Fully tracked, insured courier service back to you once the work is completed.
