SENDING TO US

TECHNICS 1200 / 1210

Drop off and collection from our premises is always recommended but we do appreciate this is not always practical due to location or convenience.

If you are sending your turntables to us, or anywhere else, either for servicing, sales or customisation, we strongly recommend our own custom shipping boxes.

I know, this seems like a complete upsell doesn’t it?

We promise you it’s not! Our shipping boxes are manufactured in the UK and we only make a very small profit on these due to assembly and order processing, we do actually care about your turntables!

How much are they?

£39.99 per box plus shipping either way does add up and may seem ridiculous compared to a cheap, sexy looking flight case!

We appreciate this, but it is far cheaper than a destroyed tonearm!

Damaged tonearms can cost from between £100 – £300 per deck for good condition used parts and up to  £500+ if replaced with brand new parts… don’t do it!

The main thing is we receive your decks in their current state… additional damage is always a nightmare, and the chances of claiming from the carriage firm is usually a dead end!

Nearly all couriers in the UK no longer insure for damage of electrical items, many have turntables on their ‘prohibited’ list, which is not great.

If you do pay insurance, it only covers for loss of item, not damage.

Please don’t get caught out like some of our previous customers. There is nothing more devastating than receiving decks damaged due to being insufficiently packaged for transit.

Our boxes have been tried and tested around the globe…

Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands, Maldives, Kazakhstan, Dubai, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to name a few…

All arriving in perfect condition.

How do our boxes compare to other packaging options?

Full Metal Flight Cases

Old school flight cases with full metal construction are better, but they still don’t have the shock absorbent qualities that our ethafoam packaging does.

We have received turntables in full metal flight cases with tonearm damage in the past due to excessive vibrations in transit. It is not a failsafe solution.

Budget Flight Cases

These are reasonably priced and may look attractive with rounded edges. They may sport an aggressive name, but be warned, they are not as tough as they sound! Please do not send your decks in these!

Nothing wrong with these cases if you are transporting, personally from gig to gig, but no match for the courier service and the warehouse conveyor belts they will endure.

Original Boxes

An original Technics box should be fine?….  Well, no!

The Technics boxes were designed in the late 70’s early 80’s.

These boxes, as secure as they are, were not designed for worldwide (or local) shipping!

Back in the day these boxes were palletised and dropped off at the high street retailers, ready for you to collect in store!

Sadly we have received damaged decks in retail packaging, it is simply not tough enough!

Thanks for checking all the boring bits out, here’s the good stuff about our boxes…

  • Strong, double walled recycled shipping carton
  • 14 separate highly shock absorbent ethafoam pieces.
  • A total of 7 separate protective layers.
  • Specific cavities for the turntables feet, tonearm, start stop and pop up light, platter isolation and original dust cover.
  • The ethafoam has a protective surrounding area of 70mm / 2.75” around the turntable at all times.

Pioneer CDJ / DJM / XDJ

Original packaging and flight cases are accepted. If these are not available then please package the units adequately, items will be returned in the same packaging so please make sure it will upstand transport.
